This video is the first of a series being produced by the YCW Archive & Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia. It tells the story of the Road Safety Campaign run by members of the Young Christian Workers (YCW) movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s, which played a significant role in helping to raise public awareness about issues including drink driving, seatbelt use and driver education. It draws on oral history interviews with two former YCW members who were active in the campaign. The YCW Archive and Research Centre produced the video as part of a multimedia project aimed at promoting an understanding of the history of the YCW movement in Australia. The work is supported by YCW Holdings (Melbourne). To find out more about this campaign and the work of the YCW Archive and Research Centre go to https://ycwarchive.wordpress.com.
