Keny Koort (One Heart) – We’re All Part of the Story
Australia Day Shared Stories, an Aboriginal led Poetry Festival
At the Comedy Oasis Club (located upstairs at The Brisbane Hotel), from 2:30pm-6:30pm, the Australian Young Christian Workers – Perth (YCW) will host the ‘Shared Stories Australia Day Poetry Festival’. This event runs a series of spoken word performances, with opportune moments for open conversation and reflection over food and drinks.
To celebrate the stories and culture of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people with the broader Australia Day community. To reflect on what Australia Day means
today through spoken word (poetry, story telling, language), paying respect and acknowledging that we’re all part of the story.
Performers will be local Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young people (18-35 years old).
