Local Movement

A group of young students and workers who meet fortnightly and use the SEE, JUDGE, ACT methodology to discuss issues facing them in their everyday life, in their community, and the wider world. These meetings often lead to personal actions or group actions that the members take to address the issues discussed.

The Adelaide Young Christian Workers holds weekly reviews using the ‘See, Judge, Act’ methodology in the Salisbury Parish usually followed by mass and a social.  


Where: Parish office, Saint Augustine’s Church, Salisbury  

When: Sunday’s before mass, 5:30-7pm

Homework Help Program  


Free community program that is run once a week at Parramatta Library. An initiative aimed at highlighting primary school students potential and talents.

Free community initiative aimed at assisting individuals who are not able to use computers and software programs. Opportunities are available for young people to not only participate but also help as a volunteer.

The Perth Young Christian Workers Group has a number of local review groups who meet up to discuss issues relevant to their lives as students and young professionals. This can range from personal issues or issues within the wider society, such as social justice concerns. These reviews are structured according to the ‘See, Judge, Act’ process. The Perth Diocese also has ‘Discussion Nights’ every couple of months which sees all the local group members and the wider Perth catholic community come together to discuss in greater detail a particular issue of importance to the Perth YCW community (such as the issues of the refugee crisis or homelessness).  

The local review groups include:  

Baldivis Group: 

Review meetings: Fortnightly - Beginning April 23rd 2015 

Location: Hall, Mother Teresa Catholic School, 731 Eighty Road, Baldivis  

Time: Saturday 5pm (before 6pm mass)  


Balcatta Group: 

Review meetings: Once a month – the last Sunday of every month  

Location: Hall, St Lawrence Parish, 392 Albert Street, Balcatta  

Time: Sunday after 5:30pm mass

Once a month there is a group of young professionals and students who gather to conduct ROLWA, and talk about issues that are affecting them and their community, leading to collective action.
